Marking a Significant Milestone

On July 15, 2025, I proudly graduated with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Teesside University. This day was not merely a ceremonial occasion adorned with cap and gown; it symbolised the culmination of a long, transformative journey filled with both challenges and triumphs. Completing a PhD is rarely a straightforward endeavour, but the hurdles along the way have shaped me into the person I am today.

Like many others, my path to earning a PhD was fraught with unexpected twists and turns. The onset of a global pandemic significantly altered my academic experience, bringing with it a host of uncertainties. Moreover, switching universities midway through my studies added another layer of complexity to my academic journey. There were numerous moments during this process when I found myself questioning whether I would reach this pivotal point. Yet, it was these very challenges that fostered an opportunity for personal growth and resilience.

As I reflect on my journey, I cannot overlook the incredible support that surrounded me throughout this endeavour. My heartfelt gratitude goes to Professor Paul Russell and Professor Faik Hamad, whose guidance, patience, and constructive feedback were instrumental in my academic development. Their unwavering support made a tangible difference during times of uncertainty.

Additionally, I owe a debt of gratitude to my PhD team and dear friends who provided continuous encouragement. Their presence was a source of motivation, helping me to remain grounded during the most taxing phases of my studies. As I embraced each challenge, their belief in my abilities gave me the strength to persevere.

Graduating with a PhD is not merely an academic achievement; it is a representation of dedication, perseverance, and an unyielding commitment to growth. As I stand on the precipice of new opportunities, I carry with me not just the title of doctorate, but also the lessons learned and the relationships forged. While this chapter of my life has concluded, I am excited for what lies ahead. With a fresh perspective and an indomitable spirit, I look forward to applying my knowledge in chemical engineering to make meaningful contributions to my field.

In conclusion, my graduation is a celebration of resilience, support, and the unbreakable human spirit. I am grateful for every twist and turn that led me here, and I am eager for the new adventures that await.
